Attraction

  • Cauchie House - his house is one of the most exceptional Art Nouveau masterpieces in Brussels. Built in 1905, it was originally home to Paul Cauchie and Caroline Voet, a couple of artists and decorators
  • Museum

  • Comics Art Museum - only for the art nouveau
  • Horta Museum - Belgium was home to some of the biggest names in Art Nouveau – the likes of Henry Van de Velde and Victor Horta – and their legacy is everywhere you look. Keep an eye out for the trademark curves and flourishes in wood, metal and stained glass, with ornate mosaics above every other doorway (timeout)
  • Maison Autrique - The first landmark building by Victor Horta, the Autrique House heralds the birth of Art Nouveau. It also provides a better understanding of the historical and aesthetic interest of classic Brussels mansions.
  • Maison Hannon - Art nouveau house
  • MiMa - A cutting-edge museum in a former brewery in a seriously cool neighbourhood.
  • Villa Empain - exhibition space in an iconic art deco jewel that used to be a private residence.
  • Restaurant

  • Horta Brasserie - brasserie
  • Sight

  • Hôtel van Eetvelde - The Hôtel van Eetvelde was designed, in the words of Victor Horta himself, as "the most daring plan he had ever done"
  • Marché aux Puces - A large, outdoor market in the Marolles
  • Place du jeu de balle - Flea market
